Obituary of Eleanor June Thomas
With heavy hearts, but with appreciation for a life well-lived, the family of Eleanor June Thomas, wife of the late Harry Carleton Thomas, announce her passing on Friday, September 17, 2021, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born June 12, 1931, in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late William John and Gertrude Blanche (Meadus) Day.
Eleanor worked in accounting/payroll for over 35 years with Marque Construction, retiring at the age of 66.
Eleanor is survived by her daughters, Dianna Marr (Terry) and Julie Elder; grandchildren: Kerri Romikat (David), Ian Marr (Dana), Stephanie Elder, and Adam Elder (Joleen); great-grandchildren: Ariona Marr-Morgan, Anderson Romikat, Jase Marr, Caleb Rogers, and Gaige and Owen Elder; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank Eleanor’s second family at the Turnbull Home for their friendship and incredible care over the years, and the staff of 3DS for their care, compassion, and professionalism in Eleanor’s last days. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). In keeping with Eleanor’s wishes, there will be a private service of remembrance at a later date. Due to COVID-19 health measures placed on formal gatherings by the Government of New Brunswick, all those 12 and over attending the funeral service will be required to show proof of vaccinations and a piece of government-issued ID, or proof of medical exemption For those who wish, remembrances to the SPCA or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
