Obituary of David Joseph Harvey
It is with broken hearts that the family of Super Dave Harvey regrets to inform of his passing on September 24, 2021, at his residence, following a lengthy illness and surrounded by his family. Dave’s last wish was to be home with his brother, John. Born on July 2, 1975, in Yarmouth, NS, he was a son of the late David and Elizabeth (Brownell).
Dave loved his family and friends. Anyone who met Dave loved him immediately. Being a good Nova Scotia man, he met his true love in Saint John off of “Plenty of Fish”. Their journey was not easy but it was full of love. Dave loved going to Hope Mission to have lunch especially with his ladies. He never talked about his illness nor complained. He enjoyed his tablet, playing pool with people from all over the world and paint by numbers. Dave also enjoyed music of all generations. Super Dave will be missed by many.
David is survived by his common law wife, Janet Shatford; brother, John J. Burke (the late Virginia H. Burke); brother-in-law, Charlie W. Shatford; sister-in-law, Debra A. Shatford; stepdaughter, Jasmine M. Shatford; mother-in-law, Janet L. Shatford; nieces, Marley (Cory), Amy (Chuck) and Sarah (Jon); nephews, Scott (Kelsey) and Justin; as well as special friends, Andrea Young and Tom Daly.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Thursday, September 30, 2021, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
