Obituary of Pauline "Polly" Sampel
With heavy hearts, the family of Pauline “Polly” Sampel, wife of the late Harold “Hal” Sampel, announces her passing on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born August 21, 1935, in Fredericton, she was a daughter of the late Millard and Marguerite (Campbell) Savage.
Polly will be missed by special friends for life from their team the "St. Peter’s Saints" that bowled together until she was over 80 and won numerous titles. She will also be missed by the Saturday morning "Golden Girls" from the city market. Polly was always a lady and loved to dress up and have herself put together. She loved BINGO and will be missed by her T.V. BINGO ladies every Tuesday. Special thanks to the wonderful staff of Kindred homecare that were her friends and helped her out the past 5 years.
Pauline is survived by her son, Mike (Lesley); granddaughter, Mya; sister, Jackie Chapman; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Hal, Polly was predeceased by her sister, Jean Parsons; and brothers: Ralph, Millard, and Allan.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Visiting will take place on Friday, October 1, 2021, from 12 to 2 pm, at which time we will process to Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery for the interment. Due to COVID-19 health measures placed on indoor gatherings by the Government of New Brunswick, all those 12 and over attending the visitation will be required to show proof of vaccination and a piece of government issued ID, or proof of medical exemption. For those who wish, remembrances to A Living Memorial or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Please place online condolences and remembrances at www.BrenansFH.com.
