Obituary of Beth Dunsmore
With great sadness the family of Elizabeth “Beth” Dunsmore of Saint John, beloved wife of the late Bill Dunsmore, announce her passing which occurred on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on December 4, 1955 in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Tom and Betty (Irving) Lockerbie.
Beth graduated from Millidgeville North High School in 1973 and went on to further her education at Modern Business College. She was employed as an insurance broker with Anderson Insurance until 1989. In 1989, Beth took on the most satisfying and rewarding job ever…caring for the needs of her precious mother. Beth was always known as a “giver,” one whose kindness and generosity touched many throughout the years. She held a special place in her heart for animals and her late dog, Sasha and her late cat, Sophie, both were always considered her children. Beth will be forever lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Beth had many serious health issues throughout the years and her family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to her health care professionals, Extra-mural, nurses, Brandie, Rachelle and Carol, PSW, Carlene who was a dear friend and very important to Beth, occupational therapist, Jen and physical therapist, Carrie. A heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses of 3BS at the Saint John Regional Hospital, for the exceptional care that was provided to Beth during her last few days and also to Dr. John Mowatt, a special thank you for your care, guidance and kindness that you showed Beth and family.
Left to mourn Beth’s passing are her siblings, John Lockerbie of Durham Bridge, Linda Lockerbie of Saint John, Allan Lockerbie of Saint John and Beverly Ellis (Barry) of Rothesay; special nephew, Fraser Lockerbie (Serena) of Montreal; goddaughter, Amy and her daughter, Leona; as well as many close friends at Brentwood Towers. A special thank you to Roxanne and Elizabeth who were with Beth when she was transferred to the hospital.
In keeping with Beth’s wishes, no services will be held. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
For those who wish, remembrances made to Beth's favourite charity, Red Head Strays Helping Stray Cats Strut or a charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family. Online remembrances and condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com.
