Obituary of Mary Burns
With heavy hearts, the family of Mary Margaret Burns, wife of the late Joseph Vincent Burns, announce her passing on Friday October 22, 2021 at Shannex Tucker Hall. Born May 18,1929 in Fairville, Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Gregory Murphy and Florence Furness.
Mary worked at the Canadian Pacific Railway until she retired. She was a lifelong member of the St. Rose Catholic Women’s League. Mary also enjoyed a good game of bowling and playing cards.
Mary is survived by her children Dianne Gorman, Janet (Paul) McCracken, Stephen (Verna) Burns, Kenneth (Doris) Burns, Karen (Alan) MacLennan, her loving 8 grandchildren, her precious 9 great grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Vince, her parents Gregory and Florence Murphy, her brothers Joseph, Louis and Urban Murphy and sisters Marjorie Horgan and Doreen Ingoldsby.
Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 26 at 12:00PM at Holy Spirit Parish (Saint Rose of Lima Worship Site), 541 Milford Road.
