Obituary of Susan Linden-Byers
It is with broken hearts that the family of Susan Linden-Byers announces her passing on October 29th, 2021, at Bobby’s Hospice after a hard battle with cancer. Susan was born on September 29th, 1958, in Port Arthur, Thunder Bay, Ontario to the late Aarre and Kerttu “Helen” Lonnroth.
Susan – also known as Bubbles - had a kind, calming and bubbly personality which caused many to gravitate towards her. With a big heart and a gentle demeanor, she made everyone around her feel welcome. A dedicated person to helping those in need was evident in Susan’s personality. Employed as a Personal Support Worker at Pioneer Ridge Nursing Home, Susan provided care and support to the aging population day in and day out until her early retirement. Susan was also a devout Baptist and attend Forest Hills Baptist Church for regular Sunday Worships. Susan loved to travel, enjoyed cooking, and appreciated the beauty of butterflies. She was truly one of a kind and she will be deeply missed by many.
Susan is survived by her loving husband Dana Byers; childhood friend Michele Wilson; sisters-in-law’s Janet, Jeannine, and Bonnie; nephews John Jr and Jeremy (Stacey); and extended family members Angela-todd, Ariella, Carly, Hunter, Owen, Marie, Ryder, Patricia, Joanie and Elgin Kotanen, and Walter and Micheline MacDonald; and many friends in Thunder Bay. She is predeceased by her parents, and her brother John Matthew Tunkkari.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). In following with Susan’s wishes cremation has already taken place, however, a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
