Obituary of Lois Kathleen Asbridge

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lois (O’Brien) Asbridge, wife of the late Robert Asbridge, on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at the Loch Lomond Villa.  Born on May 31, 1938, Lois was a daughter of the late John R. and Mary (Elward) O’Brien.

Lois spent her whole career working for NBTel and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She was a member of the “Golden Girls” alumni of St. Vincent’s High School Class of 1956. She volunteered with the Loch Lomond Villa for 12 years, St. Vincent de Paul, and the Cathedral.

Lois will be missed by her children: Brenda Williston (Kevin) and Richard Asbridge (Heather); granddaughter, Ashley Asbridge; brother, Donald O’Brien of Manitoba; sister, Barbara Slattery of Petitcodiac; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Isbill of Midland and Betty Ewing of Nova Scotia; special nephew, Ted Asbridge; and several other nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Barry and Jack; and sisters, Mary and Jean.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Loch Lomond Villa, especially Elm Lane, for their care and compassion in Lois’s final days.

Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).  Graveside prayers will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery on Friday, November 19, 2021, at 11 am. Donations in memory of Lois can be made to the Loch Lomond Villa Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be placed at www.brenansfh.com.
