Obituary of Peter Steven Conley
It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of Peter Steven Conley on Sunday, November 28, 2021. He was born on February 7, 1966, in Saint John, NB to Shirley (Lingley) and the late George Conley.
Peter was an avid sports fan and enjoyed travelling to watch the Florida Panthers, the Boston Red Sox, Bruins and Patriots. Peter is a former coach in the Lancaster Centennial Men’s Hockey League, Minor Midget Hockey, and Junior B hockey Leagues. Peter coached the Labatt Litening Men’s ball hockey team for many years, winning many provincial championships before transitioning to refereeing ball hockey. In his younger years, Peter also enjoyed playing Fastpitch Softball and was a fearsome hitter and pitcher.
Peter enjoyed celebrating the holidays and summer BBQs with family and especially loved his weekly lunches with his mother.
Peter and his wife, Nancy Morrison, served as a Saint John Seadogs Billet Family for many years and were devoted Seadogs fans. Peter attended every Seadog Memorial Cup Game to date, including games in Shawinigan, Mississauga, and Windsor.
Peter was proud to serve as a committee member of the Dickie Crossman Memorial Foundation supporting Pro Kids.
Peter is survived by his devoted wife Nancy Morrison of Quispamsis, his mother Shirley Conley, siblings Brian (Mary-Lou), Paul (Barb), Lori (John) and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his fur-baby Bailey. Peter will be missed by a special group of close-knit friends, Ernest and Louise Rice and Joe and Linda McCarten as well as the Thursday night Vito’s Boyz, made up of many close buddies. Besides his father, Peter was predeceased by his brother Bruce and sister-in-law Susan.
At the time of his death, Peter was the Commercial Accounts Manager at Carquest Saint John.
Peter and Nancy thank the local automotive community for their amazing support during Peter’s illness. We also want to acknowledge Nurse Ashley Hogan for her genuine care and compassion.
