Obituary of Doris Elaine Jamieson

JAMIESON, Doris Elaine –

It’s with great sadness that the family of Doris Elaine (nee MacLennan) Jamieson announces her passing on November 29, 2021. Doris was born in Plymouth, Nova Scotia on June 7, 1921 to the late Estelle (nee Fraser) & J.K. MacLennan. She is predeceased by her husband of 48 years, William Jamieson & her brothers Wilbur & Clarence.

Doris is lovingly remembered by her daughter Heather (John Zinck), son Bill & her cherished grandchildren Ian (Julie Lan) & Matthew.

Before her marriage, Doris was employed by the Maritime Telegraph & Telephone Company. When she married, she devoted herself to caring for her family & supporting her husband & family when they were stationed at naval postings in England and throughout Canada.

Doris was also an active member of the IODE & was the primary life member of the Dr. William MacIntosh Chapter. She loved visits and phone calls from her family, especially her grandchildren. Her grandson, Matthew, will miss his twice daily calls to “Doris” to catch up on the day’s happenings and to see if she had won any money at bingo. She will be missed by all who knew & loved her. A special thanks goes out to Kim Davis, the staff of Concorde Hall, Parkland in the Valley and the staff at Bobby’s Hospice for their care and compassion.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (634-7424). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 10 am in Brenan's chapel. For those unable to attend, the service will be live-streamed and may be viewed by visiting Doris's memorial page on Brenan's website. Due to Covid-19 health measures placed on indoor gatherings by the Government of New Brunswick, all those 12 and older attending the service will be required to show proof of vaccination and a piece of a government-issued ID or proof of medical exemption. Donations may be made to the Salvation Army, Bobby’s Hospice or a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com.
