Jeanne Keating

Obituary of Jeanne Keating

Barbara “Jeanne “(Bonnell) Keating passed away suddenly on November 26, 2021, in Largo, Florida. She was born on October 2, 1947, in Woodstock, NB to the late Doris (Dunbar) and George Bonnell. She was a proud graduate and alumni of Saint John High School and the Saint John School of Nursing. She was an accomplished Nurse, bridge player, artist, and dancing partner.

Jeanne met and eloped with the love of her life, Dr. Michael Keating on May 16, 1970. Together, for 51 years, they raised three daughters and a son in Saint John, NB. Jeanne was a consummate hostess, a "real lady" with a beautiful spirit. She was a devoted spectator of M Gerald Teed Christmas Concerts, high school sports, musicals, and Mike's numerous home improvement projects. Jeanne and Dr. Mike were blessed to share many adventures together with friends and family in all of their travels: the cottage on Model Farm Road, her treasured oasis at Skiff Lake and of course, “The Park” at Palm Hill Country Club in Florida.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Michael, daughters Karen (Mike Small), Kelly (Ian Boyd), Jan (Mark LeBlanc), and Peter Keating, grandchildren Ryan, Laura, Alex and Gregor Small, Mark, Adam and Luke Boyd, and Regan, Kate, Alison and Connor LeBlanc, numerous nieces and nephews, her siblings, Robert Bonnell (Stacy) and Frances Doyle, her brothers in law Fr Brian Keating csc and Terry Keating, and many honored friends and neighbors. Jeanne was loved and admired by many. She was predeceased by her special in-laws Carol & Lou Simon of Saint John, Barbara Bonnell of Montreal, and Brian Doyle of Ottawa.

Thank you for all the kind words and messages. "Nanny Jeanne" will be greatly missed.
