Obituary of Marlyn Lloyd Morrell
It is with great sadness the family of the late Marlyn Lloyd Morrell announce his sudden passing on Monday, December 20, 2021, at his residence. Born in Saint John, NB, on September 2, 1942, he was the son of the late Elizabeth (Hopey) & Lloyd Morrell.
Marlyn loved driving trucks for a living and enjoyed listening to the Country Jamboree on Sunday nights - especially when they played his brother-in-law Ralph Henderson’s music.
He is survived by his daughter, Laura Lee Mott (Jeremy); son, Kristopher Morrell (Holly); grandchildren, London O’Leary (Carly), Ricky “RJ” Vinqvist and Quentin Vinqvist (Emma); great-grandchildren, Macie, Hazel, Joshua and Chloe; sisters, Lynn Morrell and Sylvia Bradshaw; sisters-in-law, Celanie Scoville, Ramona Stack and Mary Thomas (Stephen); brothers-in-law, Robert Stephen (Margaret) and Thomas Stephen (Dianne); along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and members of his extended family.
In addition to his parents, Marlyn was predeceased by his sister, Melanie MacDonald; mother of his children, Theresa Morrell; several brothers and sisters-in-law; and companion, Mary Flynn.
The family would like to offer a special Thank You to Dr. Taryn O’Neill and his many friends at Prince Edward Square Apartments.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). In keeping with Marlyn’s wishes, a Graveside Service will take place in St. Martins Community Cemetery in the spring. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Saint John Community Food Basket or the SPCA Saint John Animal Rescue.
