Obituary of Kathryn Margo (Creamer) Seeley
With heavy hearts, the family of Margo Seeley announces her passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, December 31, 2021 after a lengthy illness. The daughter of the late Dr. T.L. (Roy) Creamer and the late Shirley McAllister Creamer, Margo was born in Saint John on May 26, 1965.
As the eighth child in a family of nine, Margo learned from a young age that she had to assert herself. She had an independent spirit and was always on the move, easily making friends in Quinton Heights. Margo was fun-loving and adventurous, a firecracker who loved spending time with her siblings — especially trying to keep up with her three older brothers. Whether zipping around in a dune buggy, waterskiing at the cottage, tobogganing at “Wiggie’s Hill” or snowmobiling in the valley behind the family home, she was fearless. Creative and artistic, Margo was talented with makeup from the time she was a teenager and one of her favourite hobbies was upcycling furniture. She spoke fondly of her high school years at St. Vincent’s and of the many teachers there who touched her life in a positive way.
Margo was a champion of all her siblings and her extended family. She never missed acknowledging a life event or occasion, big or small. She was quick to offer warm words of encouragement and support, especially to her many nieces and nephews. To them, she was a fairy godmother. Margo would often regale family and friends with funny stories. Her beautiful smile, infectious laugh and amazing sense of humour will be truly missed. Margo connected easily with people, both young and old, and had many wonderful friendships over the years. Her family will never forget those who loved, supported and encouraged her during her most challenging times.
As much as Margo loved her extended family and friends, her true happiness was spending time with her husband, Nevin — her anchor — and her son, McGregor — her pride and joy. She was always the loudest parent in the arena cheering on McGregor at his hockey games, and she treasured memories of family trips to Florida, South Carolina and Lake Digdeguash with her boys.
Margo is survived by Nevin, her unwaveringly supportive and loving husband of 34 years; her beloved son, McGregor; her special canine companion, Mia; her siblings: Mary Ann, Thomas, Robert, Nancy, Lucinda, June and Nea; her many nieces and nephews; her aunt, Barbara Fleming; and many cousins. In addition to her parents, Margo was predeceased by her brother Peter.
Nevin and McGregor wish to extend heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Mary Jarratt, Dr. Samantha Gray, Dr. Chris O’Brien and Dr. Jessica Guimond-Hemmings, as well as the nurses and staff of the Saint John Regional Hospital’s Medical Oncology Department and the Palliative Care Unit, for their attentive and compassionate care.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on Friday, January 7th. The Mass will be streamed at 11 am and can be viewed by visiting Margo’s obituary. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424).
For those who wish, donations to the Elizabeth Frye Society, Romero House or a charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by Margo’s family.
