Obituary of Gary Clements
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gary “Buzz” Clements, which occurred on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at his home after a long and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family. Born in Saint John, NB on March 15, 1949, he was a son of Bertha M. (Monaghan) and the late Ralph J. Clements.
Gary graduated from the Electrical program at Vocational School and went on to become a proud member of IBEW Local 502. Throughout the years, Gary was active in volunteering for the Children’s Christmas Parties, Annual Summer Picnics, and many cookouts.
Gary also became a member of the Branch 69 Legion where he was awarded Legionnaire of The Year in 2019. He spent countless hours volunteering and was very proud of his time spent with the potato peeling crew. Gary was a proud member of the round table and loved his friends from the Breakfast Club.
Gary is survived by his daughters, Lesley Clements (Kyle Thibodeau) and Lori Cosgrove (Kevin) and their mother, Cheryl (Feltus) Clements; brother, Wayne Clements (Linda); sisters, Diane Black (Eric), Linda Moore (Bob), Kim Bury (Mike); grandchildren, Miranda O’Neill, Morgan Cosgrove, Zack O’Neill, Lauren Cosgrove, Maddie O’Neill, Kaylee Thibodeau, and Abby Thibodeau; as well as several nieces, nephews, an aunt and uncles. In addition to his father, Gary was predeceased by two uncles and four aunts.
The family would like to extend a very special thanks to 3CN staff at Saint John Regional Hospital, Catherine Lawrence (Extra Mural Nurse) as well as Dr. Wildish (Palliative care) for all your care, patience and dedication to our Dad.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Thursday, January 13, 2022, from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
