Obituary of Pauline Foster

Peacefully, at Rocmaura Nursing Home on February 16th, 2022, Pauline Mary Foster (nee Bastarache) passed away at the age of 71. Pauline was born on March 26th, 1950, in Saint John to the late Suzanne and Gerard Bastarache. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Gary, her three children Andrew (Valérye Hudon), Matthew (Melinda) and Rachel Salgado (Dr. David), as well as four grandchildren, Tenley, Levi, Sophia and Claire.

She is also survived by her brothers Ronald and Paul, sisters Patricia and Jocelyn, sister-in-law Barb Meredith (the late Byron), brothers-in-law Wayne (the late Elaine), Brian (Judy), Dr. Mark (Kathleen), as well as many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Predeceased by her sister Rosemarie.

Pauline was a Home Economics teacher at several schools in the Saint John area for many years. She enjoyed long walks, cross-stitching, quilting, card games, curling, golf and summers at the cottage at Sand Point with family. Pauline looked forward to cruises to Alaska, the Caribbean and the Mediterranean, enjoying the travel experience in general.

At the request of the family, no service will be held at this time. Private interment to take place at a later date.

Many thanks to the staff at Rocmaura for their dedication and wonderful care throughout Pauline’s two-year stay.
