Obituary of Evelyn Eloise Gillespie
It is with great sadness that the family of Evelyn Eloise Gillespie (Conner) announces her passing which occurred on Friday, February 18, 2022, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Sussex, NB, on July 31, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Dexter and Alice (McElroy) Conner.
She is survived by her husband, James B. Gillespie of 65 years, she leaves behind her two sons, James Michael Gillespie, and his wife, Geeta and her other son, Christopher Grant Gillespie and his wife, Kimberly, as well as Evelyn’s grandson, Brett Christian Gillespie. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Harold “Hardy” Conner.
Evelyn grew up in Sussex Corner and as a young woman taught at Waterford School and Glen Falls School. After her marriage, Evelyn concentrated on raising her two boys.
Evelyn was a beautiful, caring, and loving person, she will be missed by everyone she knows.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). A family service will take place at a later date.
