I only found out this October that Oscar has passed away. As his sister, I have wonderful memories of our sharing his birthday cake on Sept 1 every year while I lived in Saint John. Since moving to Alberta in 2000, we shared many letters over the years. He was so appreciative of my news from Alberta and for someone who liked to be by himself, he was a wonderful letter writer. I found out more about how he felt about things in these letters rather than in person. He had a big heart and always welcomed new people into his life. You will be missed Oscar, but I am comforted in knowing that you are happy sharing your happily ever after with the family who have gone before you (David, Ron, Shirley, Irene, and Carmel.)
