Sorry to hear of your Dad passing. My Mom(Joan Godwin/Cave) loved to reminisce with him about the old days in Mispec. The great baseball games w Earl, your Dad & my grandfather, Fred Cave. Your Dad made my Moms day when he gave her a VH tape of a dance over the old motor vehicle office on Bayside Dr. It was of your Dad, my Dad & Mom before marriage, my Dads father & mother(my gr father died when I was 1 month old)my great Aunts & Uncles who all were friends. It went on to show the street cars on Bayside Drive, a trip up the River Rd, it was just amazing & my Mom cherished it!! God Bless him

Whenever I returned to Saint John, my path was straight to Frank and Ruth’s home. My sanctuary. Frank would drive me all over the countryside, showing me the graves of family members and telling me the history from away back in time. I cherish those times today.

One of my favourite summertime memories as a kid, was when my Dad, Les (or Dinky, as he was called in Saint John), would take us to Saint John to visit our relatives. We always stayed with Uncle Frank and Aunt Ruth. I loved Uncle Frank's sense of humour-you knew he was always up to something. He convinced me once that I should be putting orange juice on my cereal instead of milk, to save time in the morning. Every time I think of Uncle Frank, and the fun times we had in Saint John, it always makes me smile. I know my Dad will be happy to have his baby brother join him in heaven. Rest in peace, Frank.

My memory of Uncle Frank - my Dad was also Les (Dinky) was when we would drive to Uncle Frank and Aunt Ruth‘s cabin every summer at the end of August. This one particular time Frank was singing “cross over the bridge” by Patti Page and in order to get to the cabin, as all our cousins know, you literally had to cross over a bridge. But he kept driving and forgot to turn down the road where the bridge was. We all laughed in the car so hard. He was the funniest man I knew - besides my Dad - RIP
