Obituary of Clifford McKay
It is with broken hearts that the family of Kenneth “Clifford” McKay announces his peaceful passing at the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Nursing Home on April 22, 2022, surrounded by his family. Born in Saint John NB, he was the son of the late Robert and Parn (Hanson) McKay.
He was loved by many, especially his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at his camp on Hopey Lake. He worked at Fernhill Cemetery for over 40 years until he retired at the age of 65.
Clifford is survived by his daughters Trenia Mckenna and Gail Garnett, son-in-law Jim McKenna, sister Beverly McKay, 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. He was also survived by his best fur friends dog Gracie and cat Zoey. Besides his parents, Clifford was predeceased by his wife of over 50 years Georgia Garnett.
His family would like to express gratitude to the church of St. John and St. Stephen nursing home staff for their wonderful care.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424), with visitation on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM. A Celebration of Clifford’s Life will take place on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at 12:30 PM in the Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow in Fernhill Cemetery. Memorial donations in Clifford’s name may be made to the Saint John SPCA or to Alzheimer Society of Canada and online condolences can be placed at www.BrenansFH.com
