Obituary of Sharon Mary Hayward
It is with sadness that the family of Sharon Mary Hayward announces her passing on April 21, 2022, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on November 21, 1947, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Mersereau.
In her younger years, Sharon was an elementary school teacher. She was also a gifted and talented Gospel singer, singing at several local churches and even recording 3 albums. About 20 years ago, Sharon returned to school and earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at UNB, graduating as a proud straight A student in her class.
Sharon is survived by her daughters: Lacey Hayward and Jody Hayward (Jeff Tracey); son: Nicholas Hayward; grandchildren: Madeline Nason and Aden Tracey; sister: Carol Parmigiani; longtime close friend: Judy Stairs; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Sharon was predeceased by her sister Betty Carmichael, brother Kenneth Denier, and her cherished cat Whiskers.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424), a private visitation and service will be held at a later date. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery.
