Obituary of Robert DeBow
DeBow: Robert “Bob” William
It is with profound sadness that the family of Robert “Bob” William DeBow announce his sudden passing on Saturday, June 4, 2022, in Sarnia, Ontario. Born in Saint John, NB on May 31,1967, he was the son of Bill and Andrea (nee Caissie) DeBow.
Bob was a graduate of Saint John High School and NBCC-St Andrews. He was a Red Seal electrician by trade and was a member of IBEW Local 502. Bob enjoyed life to the fullest. He was very friendly and outgoing and could always be counted on to lend a hand. Some of his favourite activities were riding his ATV and camping, and his contagious laughter could always be heard around the bonfire. He spent many enjoyable evenings playing board games with family and friends or doing jigsaw puzzles. He always looked forward to socializing at countless family barbecues and reunions. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener and loved playing hockey in his younger days.
Shortly before he passed, Bob posted the following on Facebook - “I woke up. I have clothes to wear. I have running water. I have food to eat. Life is good. I am thankful.” We take comfort in knowing that Bob was happy and in a good place. He will be greatly missed.
Besides his parents, Bob is survived by his brother Dan (Barb), his sister Brenda Reid, nieces Caissie and Emilie and nephew Jakob, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was pre-deceased by his brother-in-law Gordon Reid. Bob will be forever remembered by Lisa.
Visitation will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home (634-7424), 111 Paradise Row, Saint John on Thursday, June 16, 2022, from 2 to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Redeemer Parish (St. Plus X), 316 Somerset Street, Saint John on Friday morning at 11 am. Cremation to follow.
In memory of Bob and his love of animals, especially his dogs Ben and Ozzie, donations may be made to the S.P.C.A. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.Brenansfh.com.
