To the Bonnell family, my thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. I remember your mother fondly as she visited with my mother (Pat). There were always some good stories and a few laughs.Including Sally Harley, they were the 3 musketers - 3 peas in a pod. I always was glad to know that my mom had a great friend in Maureen. When my mom passed Maureen was so kind. My apologizes for not being able to attend but my thoughts go out to you. I would like to think that Mom and Maureen have reunited dancing and laughing all the days. Fondly remembered,
Cynthia and the Reicker family

I was fortunate to have the then Miss Coughlan as my 8th grade homeroom teacher. She was kind and engaging and fostered a true learning environment in her class. After her engagement she invited all the girls in her homeroom to her family home on Cliff St., arranging the transportation and ensuring every one of us who wished to go could attend. She showed us her trousseau (a word long gone from most bride-to-be's vocabulary) and then treated us to tea, finger sandwiches and petit fours. She made sure to get us back to Hazen-White St. Francis in time for many of us to catch our buses home. I regaled my family with tales of all the lovely things I had seen and I remember being made to feel very special.
Fast forward many, many years later. I saw Mrs. Bonnell, reintroduced myself and reminded her of that visit and how wonderful that gesture made me feel. She chuckled and said that until I brought it up, she had not remembered it! That makes me believe that there are many more former students who, like me, have a fond memory of something she did for them, whereas she would have thought it simply the thing to do and nothing so out of the ordinary.
To the Bonnell and Coughlan family members, please accept my sincere sorrow at your loss of such a wonderful lady.

Mom enjoyed sharing this story with me often about her trousseau tea with her grade 8 girls.
I too am a teacher and mom and I often shared stories about special memories with our students. This example was among her favorites. Thank you so much for sharing this memory with us today. It means a great deal.
