Obituary of A. Kathleen Donahue
With a sense of appreciation for a life well lived, the family of Kathleen "Kaye" Donahue announces her passing which occurred on January 6, 2016 at Rocmaura Nursing Home. She was born on March 11, 1924 in Saint John, NB to the late John Joseph and Agnes Theresa (Caine) Donahue. Kaye was an alumnus of St. Vincent’s High School, Saint John General Hospital School of Nursing and Dalhousie University. She was dedicated to her career as a nurse and public health nurse, she was a member of several organizations which include the Nursing Association, Public Health Association and served as the President of the NB/PEI-CPHA. Kaye was also a member of the CWL and the Rocmaura Auxiliary. She lived her life to do unto others and she will be missed by all who knew her. Kaye is survived by her nieces and nephews: Mary (Robert) Pinet, Michael (Janet) Donahue, Maureen (Jim) Creamer, and Jim (Angela) Donahue, her great nieces and nephews: Rob, Martha, Jeremy, Daniel, Timothy, Elizabeth, Joe, Erin, Jane, Tom, Kate, Greg, Eileen, James, Laura and Sadie, along with 25 great grand nieces and nephews and many members of her extended family. Besides her parents, Kaye was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law; Joe and Carm Donahue and her niece Anne Vandenberghe. The family wishes to extend their utmost gratitude to the staff of Rocmaura Nursing Home. Your hard work, compassion and care did not go unnoticed, Thank You. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), where visitation will be held on Friday, January 8 from 2 PM – 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Pius X Church, 316 Somerset Street on Saturday, January 9 at 11 AM. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date.
