Obituary of Yvette Parent
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Yvette Parent announces her passing which took place Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Neguac, NB on April 1, 1951 she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Olive (Savoie) Smith. Devoted wife of Bernard Parent for 35 years. Yvette was very active in her community. Having been a multi-transplant recipient over 30 years ago, she was a tremendous support for the Kidney Foundation. She also belonged to the Jervis Bay Legion Branch 53 and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her husband, Bernard, she will be missed by her children: Angel Martin (Chris), Racheal Crawford (Chad), Tracy Lynn Gallant (Tom) and James Parent ( Jennifer); grandchildren, Kyle, Riley, Jayna, Emalee, Chelsey, Max, Jaxon and Jolie; a brother Donald Smith (Aurelda); sisters-in-law Angelina Smith, Brenda Smith, Diane Smith and Carol Smith; as well as several nieces and nephews. Yvette was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Lawrence, Lionel and Venance Smith. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Monday and Tuesday, January 11 and 12, 2016 from 2–4 and 6–8 PM. A Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary tribute will take place on Tuesday at 7:00 pm. A celebration of Yvette’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 12:00 PM from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish remembrances made to A Living Memorial, Kidney Foundation of Canada or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
