Obituary of Nina Mae Pearl Mason

The family of Nina Mae Pearl Mason nee Lewis, wife of John A. Mason, announce her passing, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, January 18, 2016. Born in Saint John on April 16, 1959, she was a daughter of the late William "George" and A. Elizabeth "Betty" (McKinney) Lewis. Nina was a manager at Tim Horton’s, and was a big advocate for Camp Day. Nina loved her family dearly, and cherished their family time. She got together with the girls every Sunday to play card games. She also was a fan of Bingo and liked the thrill and suspense of the games. Aside from her husband, Nina is survived by her three children Joe Gallant (Ashley Kayser), John Mason Jr. (Kirstie Hopper), and Judy Gallant; her brothers Gordon (Nina) and Freeman (Roberta); sisters Joanne (Edward) Gautreau, Clara Burke, Diane (Frankie) Lowe, Elsie Lewis (Jerry Castonguay), and Nancy (James) Leach; sister in law Phyllis Lewis; daughter-in-law Michelle Gallant, grand-dogs Bristol and Dega and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, son Lenny Gallant, daughter Sherry Mason, brother George Lewis, infant sister Kimberly Lewis, and brother-in-law Bobby Burke. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424), with visitation on Thursday, January 21 and Friday, January 22 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 8:30 AM. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
