Obituary of Harold Pidge Douglas King
The death of Mr. Harold "Pidge" Douglas Adams King occurred unexpectedly at his residence, 92 Durham Street, Saint John, NB, on Friday, February 28, 2003. Mr. King was born in Saint John, January 14, 1927, the son of the late James and Jennie M. (Adams) King. He lived in the North End all his life, and spent his earlier years in Pokiok. For 28 years, he was employed with CP Express and CPR, as the First Aid Attendant for the Winter Port. He later worked at Brunterm, Board of School Trustees, District 20, and Pier 1 Sea Food Restaurant. Pidge loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and boating. He was an avid gardener, who loved animals and wildlife, and was an excellent dog handler. He is survived by several nieces, one nephew, numerous friends, and caregivers. He will be missed by all who knew him. He was predeceased by his parents, sisters, Peggy and Grace, and brother, Howard. Visitation will be held on Monday from 7- 9 PM at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506) 634-7424, from where the service will take place on Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at 11:30 AM in the chapel.
