Obituary of M. Allen Ducey
It is with great sadness that the family of Miles Allen Ducey, loving husband to Kristina (Speight) Ducey, announces his passing, which occurred on May 3, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with his family by his side. Allen was born on May 9, 1937 and was a son to the late Kenneth and Ada (McDonald) Ducey. Allen was the owner of Ducey’s Groceries for 35 years. He was an active and involved member of RiverCross Church, and often attended Hope Mission. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren who kept him busy and he loved them dearly. Allen is survived by his wife Kristina (Speight) Ducey, his children: Amanda Ducey, Patricia Ducey (Ryan McLaughlin), his grandchildren: Samantha Ducey, Lily Barker-Ducey, his special grandchildren: Erin and James Barry, Angel Ferris, Cody Smith and Daniel Sweet, his siblings: Leslie (Elizabeth) Ducey, Jarvis (Deanna) Ducey and Patricia Freeman, his sisters-in-law: Marlene (Danny) Speight and Jennie Perry, his special, caring friend Tammy Harvey along with several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Allen was predeceased by his nephews: Darren Ducey and Warren Freeman and brother-in-law Mark Speight. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Visitation will be held at RiverCross Church, 61 Forbes Drive, on Thursday, May 5 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 6 at 1 PM from RiverCross Church. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to RiverCross Church or to SJRH- Palliative Care Unit.
