Obituary of Yvonne M. Lawlor
Peacefully at home, in Ottawa, on Sunday March 16, 2003, in her 48th year, following a lengthy and courageous fight with cancer. Beloved wife, partner and best friend of Mark Lawlor. Cherished mother, best friend and mentor of Brendan and Katherine. Beloved first child of Rita (Burbridge) and the late Gerald F. Savoy of Grand Bay/Westfield, NB. Survived by her mother, brothers Ernie (Dianne), Ricky (Melina), Clarence (Sarah), Mark and Michael all of Saint John and Grand Bay/Westfield, and sisters Janet (Paul) Kyle of Hampton, NB, Odette (Philip) Marcus of Kingston, NS and Kelly Savoy (Harry Trefry) of Ottawa. Loved daughter-in-law of Laurence and Adrienne Lawlor of Saint John and beloved godmother of Allison Chorley, of Hampton, NB, Cara Kyle and Jeremy Trefry. Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins. Family was the focal point of Yvonne's life. She actively participated in many of her children's educational and other pursuits as a parent volunteer, group leader and enthusiastic spectator. She will be remembered for her love of life, strong faith and family values, dignity, courage and inner strength in dealing with adversity. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre and the Ottawa VON, and all friends and family for their care and support during Yvonne's illness. Special thanks to Dr. Dent, Dr. Coulombe, Rita Blattman, Nicole Viau, Estelle Rochefort, Bonnie Nunner, Pierette Hodder, Phyllis Robson and Doug Tyler. Friends may pay respects at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, with visitation on Saturday, March 22, 2003 and Sunday, March 23, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 24, 2003 at 11 a.m. from St. Matthew's Church, Grand Bay/Westfield.
