Obituary of Evelyn Josephine Dick
The death of Evelyn Josephine (MacCormack) Dick, wife of the late Hazen A. Dick, occurred on Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in New Zealand, PEI on February 26, 1922, she was a daughter of the late James and Olive (Ryan) MacCormack. During her working career, Evelyn worked for Hoffman Ltd. for nine years, and went on to work for Sears Canada for 20 years before retirement. From 1975 to 1987, Evelyn was the vice president of ABC Surgical Incorporated, which she and her husband Hazen owned and operated. She was a former member of Trinity Parish Guild. Evelyn is survived by her two sons, Brian (Brenda) of Rowley, NB and Earle (Arlene) of Grand Bay-Westfield; one daughter, Gail (Hilton) Lee of Lorneville, NB; six sisters, Ida Miller, Sadie (Steve) Labchuck, Lillian (Joseph) Melanson, Eleanor (Francis) Chaisson, Isabel (Andy) Jaunch, Doreen (Pius) MacPhee;10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by five brothers: Peter, Joseph, Elmer, Kenneth and Bernard; and four sisters: Susan, Mae, Helen and Viola. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 12:00 PM with a reception to follow. Interment will be held in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
