Obituary
Obituary of Doreen Elizabeth Oldfield
With great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and friend, Doreen Oldfield, which occurred on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 in Saint John, at the age of 89. Doreen was born on April 1, 1927 in Fredericton, to Allan Belyea and Lyde Clanfield. She married the love of her life, Victor Oldfield in May of 1955 and they soon began raising their family in Saint John. She enjoyed dancing, baking, travelling and was always proud of her three boys and four grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She will be lovingly remembered by her three sons, Bill (Marilyn) of Calgary, AB, Gord (Jane) of Saint John and Rick (Beth) of Ajax, ON; her grandchildren, Brett, Michael, Drake and Stacie; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Curran (Robert) and Lorna Wilson (Bruce); as well as several nieces, nephews and many others whose lives she touched with her playful spirit and quick wit. In addition to her parents, Doreen was also predeceased by her brother, Larry and her husband, Victor, who surely has welcomed her to heaven with open arms; as well as brothers-in-law, Berton, Raymond, Penny and Waldo and sisters-in-law, Nina, Ella and Audrey. A graveside service is being held at Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 715 Latimore Lake Rd., Saint John, NB on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 1:00 PM. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Ridgewood Veterans Wing - Comfort Fund.
