Obituary of Roy Joseph Carr
It is with great sadness that the family of Roy Joseph Carr, the husband of the late Frances Carr, of Saint John announce his passing, which occurred on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the Turnbull Home. Roy was born in Saint John, on September 29, 1922, he was a son of the late John and Viola (Amero) Carr. Roy worked many years for CP Rail and was a big part of the Saint John Fish and Game. He is survived by his children: Linda (Eric) Doiron, Donald Carr, Joanne (Steven) Thompson, Terry Gorman, Dawn (Randy) Harris, Joey (Leatha) Carr, Paul Carr, and Paula Corkum (Gary Doucet); his sister, Vera (Bill) Winchester; his 20 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Besides his wife and parents, Roy was predeceased by his son, Dougie Carr; sister, Edna Burke; brother, Ronnie Carr; son-in-law, Louie Gorman. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation Thursday, October 27 and Friday October 28, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Peters Parish, 50 Clarendon Street on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 9:30 am. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to The Alzheimer Society of NB or The Canadian Diabetes Association NB.
