Obituary of Doris May Irene Carpenter
The death of Mrs. Doris Mary Irene (Cameron) Carpenter, 83, of Regency Towers, Saint John, NB, wife of the Malcolm Joseph (Mac) Carpenter, occurred on Monday, April 21, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Clarence H. and Emma R. (Neil) Cameron. Doris was formerly employed with at the City Market, Simon and Levine Furniture Store and then the Joseph Cohen Store for many years in the sales department. She had also been employed with the Dietary Staff of the DVA Hospital. She was past-district deputy Grand Chief of the Pythian Sisters, Moulson Temple #13. She was also a member of the Dominion Lodge #18, LOBA, Pythian Sisters, Moulson Temple #14. She was a former member of St. Anne's Church, Ketepec, where she served on the altar guild, and was presently a congregation member of St. James Anglican Church (Lakewood). She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Bonnie Lee Heather Evetts of Calgary, AB, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506) 634-7424, with visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2003 at 11:00 AM at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor's choice.
