Obituary of Metilda Marie Rackley
The death of Mrs. Melita Marie (Poirier) Rackley of Brunswick Drive, occurred on April 28, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Baie Ste. Anne she was the daughter of Raymond and Loretta (Manuel) Poirier. Melita had worked for Dr. Brian Johnson for fourteen years. Besides her parents she is survived by her companion Paul Woods, one son Gordon (Sarah) Rackley of Halifax, one daughter Kelly (Tom) Rackley of Saint John, three brothers Eldore (Soune) (Diane) Martin of Baie St. Anne, Alexis (Marie) Martin of Halifax and Claude Poirier, two sisters Monica (Walter) Neal and Carol Cormier both of Rothesay, Gordon Rackley, four grandchildren Mikala, Nikita, Shakira and Justin, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister Carmel Poirier. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home 111 Paradise Row (506-634-7424) with visiting on Thursday, May 1, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 2, 2003 from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception at 12 Noon. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor's choice.
