Obituary of Dolores C. Phinney
The passing of Dolores Phinney (age 79) of Spencer’s Island, NS, occurred on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS. Born in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late Arnold White and Dorothy (Snow) Bent. Dolores is survived by her husband of 61 years, Herb Phinney of Parrsboro, NS; daughters, Elaine Bennett (Wayne) of Baxters Corner, NB, Eleanor Garrett of Advocate Harbour, NS, Brenda Connors (Kevin) of Saint John, NB and Kimberley Ucar of Quispamsis, NB; sons, Gordon Phinney of Saint John, NB and Tim Phinney (Cheryl) of Apple River, NS; sister, Claudia Cordes (Ross) of Lower Greenwich, NB; brothers, Norman White of Kingston, ON and Kim Bent of PEI; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as her pride and joy, Pedro her canine companion. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her brother, Ezekiel White. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424) with visiting on Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 10:00 AM, Pastor Robert Conrad officiating. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens (715 Latimore Lake Road, Saint John, NB). Immediately following the interment, a reception will be held at First Bible Baptist Church (218 Hampton Road, Quispamsis, NB). There will also be a memorial held at the ADDA Recreation Centre in Advocate, NS on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at 2:00 PM. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Autism Speaks.
