Obituary of The Reverend Constance Berthenia Whittaker-Soulikias
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Rev. Constance Soulikias, wife of James Soulikias, announces her passing which occurred on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on January 23, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Helen (Smith) Whittaker. Rev. Constance was a gifted school teacher. She had a love of poetry and writing; that love resonated with her students who have fond memories of her classes. She retired from teaching in 1986. Rev. Constance was a woman of tremendous faith and was a lifelong member of Trinity Anglican Church. She volunteered her time with many organizations within the church before and after she was ordained a Deacon in the Anglican Church on June 11, 2006. Rev. Constance will be lovingly remembered by her family; her husband of 57 years James, their children James (Jenifer) Soulikias of Kansas City, MO and Peter (Maryanne) Soulikias of Vancouver, BC, her beloved grandson, Nicholas Soulikias and many members of her extended family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). In keeping with Constance’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 5 at 11 AM from Trinity Anglican Church, 115 Charlotte Street. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Trinity Fabric Fund.
