Obituary
Obituary of Kimberly Ann Saunders
It is with great sadness that the family of Kimberly Saunders of Hampstead, best friend and cherished common-law spouse of Wayne Guitard ("two peas in a pod") announces her passing, which occurred on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on October 21, 1963 in Saint John, she was the daughter of Rhoda McLeod of Hampstead and the late J. R. Andrew McLeod. Kim was employed as a PCA with Joan's Home Support Care, a career she truly loved and where many friendships were made. She took great comfort in life’s simple pleasures and particularly enjoyed going for drives with those she loved. Kim looked forward to family gatherings and was always a gracious hostess. Most of all, she adored her family and always held the times spent with those dear to her close to her heart. She will be sadly missed. In addition to Wayne, Kim is also survived by her son, David McLeod Saunders (Maranda); daughters, Angelina Gibson (Brian), Jeannetta Saunders (Kris), Amanda Savoy, Ataya Saunders (Austin) and Annie Corno (Sebastian); precious grandchildren, Cassidi Gibson, Addyson Gibson, Bianca Gentile, Lucas Gentile, Makenna Saunders-Harrison, Felix Blackplume McLeod Saunders and Camie Lou Cyr; sisters, Charlene Pitre (Hardy), Connie Westman (Paul) and Krista McLeod (Kevin); brothers, Joseph McLeod, George McLeod (Linda), Allan McLeod (Marilyn), James McLeod (Eva), Frank McLeod (Liz) and William McLeod; several nieces and nephews. Besides her father, she was also predeceased by her soulmate, David Saunders, sisters, Pam McLeod and Joanne Boviver; as well as sister-in-law, Elizabeth Jimmo. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral liturgy will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 12:00 Noon. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
