Obituary of Ellen Sherwood
The death of Mrs. Beulah Jane (Sherwood) Capson, of Saint John, wife of the late Everett R. Capson, occurred on Monday, June 2, 2003 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Bouctouche, NB, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Mary Ellen (Hicks) Sherwood. Beulah had spent her early years in Sussex before moving to Saint John. Beulah was a long-standing member of St. Matthew's Presbyterian Church, where she served with the WMS, the Women's Group, and Quilting Club. She was also a member of the Saint John Regional Hospital Auxiliary. Beulah enjoyed her time sewing and making quilts, and she loved spending many quality hours with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her two daughters, Gayle Capson (J.R. Blanchard) of Saint John and Carole Shaddick (James) of Saint John, NB and her son, Ronald Stephen Capson (Angela) of Halifax, NS, five grandchildren, Sean Jones (Candie) of Edmonton, AB, Melissa Smith (Christopher), Kalen Jones, Jamie Shaddick, and Andrew Shaddick, all of Saint John, four brothers, Reginald of Hamilton, ON, Kenneth (Bernadette) of Jeffrey's Corner, NB, Stirling of Sussex, NB, and Myles of Hamilton, ON, one sister, Ardith Robertson of Quispamsis, NB, sisters-in-law, Margaret Sherwood and Yvonne Sherwood, as well as cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Everett, her parents, a sister, Mary Patricia Sherwood, brothers, Douglas and Raymond, a sister-in-law, Mary Sherwood, and a brother-in-law, Fred Robertson. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506) 634-7424, with visitation on Tuesday from 7-9 and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2003 at 2:15 pm from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances made to St. Matthew's Presbyterian Church Building Fund or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
