Obituary of Sabra Elizabeth “Betty” Sibson
Sibson, Sabra Elizabeth “Betty” (Gray) - The death of Betty Sibson occurred on April 9, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was the wife of the late Clifford Sibson, born in Saint John the daughter of the late George and Sabra (Mahony) Gray. She was the first princess of Saint John. She Graduated from Saint John Vocational School in 1929, than Columbia with a Master of Arts, and McGill with a Bachelor of Science. Betty taught in Lorne School Saint John and Minto High School. She was also the 1st President of Beta Sigma Phi in 1944. Betty taught Sunday School and C.G.I.T. in Portland United Church and Trinity United Church in Minto, and attended Summerville United Church since her retirement to the Kingston Peninsula. Betty is survived by her one daughter Elaine S. Sibson of Halifax, NS; one daughter in law Brenda Ring of Chapel Grove, NB; four grandchildren Hilary Risley, Jaron, Shane, and Justin Sibson; one niece Nancy Williams (Richard) and their daughter Tanya and son Troy of Bowling Green, Kentucky. Besides her husband Clifford in 2000, and parents she was predeceased by two sons Dana Edward in 1971, and Alfred Gray in 2001. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). With Visitation on Monday 7-9 pm and Tuesday 10-12 am The Funeral Service will take place from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday April 12, 2005 at 1pm. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. For those who wish remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
