Obituary of John T. McMillan
McMILLAN, JOHN T. JR.- The death of John Taylor McMillan Jr., of Saint John East, loving husband and best friend of Tana (Huntley) McMillan, occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, following a sudden and courageous battle with leukemia. Born in Saint John on November 8, 1970, he was the son of John T. “Jack” and Mary Lee (Dobson) McMillan of Saint John. John graduated from Simond's High School in 1988 and from Dalhousie University in 1992 and was the owner and operator of Little John's Variety Store in Glen Falls. He loved sports and was the founder and sponsor of Little John's Ball Team. He adored his two children, they were the light of his life, he will always be remembered as a special father. Besides his loving wife and parents he is survived by his two cherished children, Taylor (age 4) and Maggie (age 1), one sister, Cheri Lumsden (Glen) of Ottawa, ON, special niece, Grace, mother and father-in-law, Blaine and Jean (Ogilvie) Huntley of Wolfville, NS, maternal grandparents, James E. and Jean (MacPherson) Dobson of Saint John, paternal grandmother, Dorothy McMillan of Rothesay, his best friend, Chris Bingham of Saint John and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday 7-9 PM and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Glenview United Church, Saint John on Saturday, September 3, 2005 at 10:30 AM. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances in John's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
