Obituary of Doris Louise Powell French
The death of Doris French of Prince Edward Street, wife of the late Thomas J. French occurred September 22nd, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Hampton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Minnie (Powell) Ross. Doris had previously been employed with the Sisters of Charity. She was a member of the Canadian Lebanon Association and the Provincial Women's PC Caucus. Doris is survived by one daughter: Debra E. French of Quispamsis, NB; one son Thomas J. (Helen) French of Saint John, NB; two grandchildren Stephanie and Helen French and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband and parents as well as by four brothers: William, George, Shirley and Cecil Ross; three sisters: Edith Brown, Margaret Smith, and Sadie Dearborn. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visitation on Saturday from 7-9 pm and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception at 12 Noon on Monday September 26th, 2005. Burial will be held in Hampton Rural Cemetery at a later date. Remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Diabetes Association and Children's Wish Foundation.
