Obituary of Dorothy E. Dickson
The death of Dorothy Ellen Dickson of Gondola Point, NB, wife of Clarence F. Dickson, occurred on Saturday, October 1, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Summerside, PEI, a daughter of the late John and Mary Ellen (Cotton) Small. Dorothy was very involved with the deaf ministry at Forest Hills Baptist Church, enjoyed quilting, knitting, rug hooking and crafts of many kinds, was an avid bowler and had worked with Maritime Gardens as a florist. Besides her husband of sixty-four years, she is survived by three sons: Donald (Doris) of Perth-Andover, NB, Robert (Carol) of Ottawa, ON, and Bernard (Joyce) of Dartmouth, NS; three daughters: Bernice (Richard) Wilson of Gondola Point, Barbara Dickson of Ottawa and Dorothy (Douglas) Brown of Pickering, ON; two brothers: Alden (Marguerite) Small and Bruce Small; five sisters: Ruth Sewell, Velda Phillips, Verna (Gene) Babb, Olga (Marshall) Callbeck and Belle (Clarence) Ramsay; sister-in-law, Jean Small; brother-in-law, Cecil Hebb; eleven grandchildren: Wayland (Dawn), Aaron (Wendy), Nora, Steven, Jillian, Rick (Lee-Anne), Brad (Sue), Andy (Tricia), Becky (Paul), Megan and Josh; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother, Ennis Small and sister, Margaret Hebb. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from Forest Hills Baptist Church, McAllister Drive, Saint John on Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at 11 am with a reception following. A private family interment will be held in St. Luke's Cemetery, Gondola Point. Remembrances may be made to Forest Hills Baptist Church, the Saint John Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services, the Canadian Cancer society or a charity of the donor's choice.
