Obituary of Hubert G. MacKenzie
The death of Hubert George (Hubie) MacKenzie of Saint John West, husband of Doreen (Cossaboom) MacKenzie, occurred on Saturday, October 1, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Newcastle, he was a son of the late Allen and Laura (Muzzerolle) MacKenzie. Hubie was employed as a pipefitter/plumber for various companies in and around the city and was a member of Local 213. Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Pastor Gordon (Anna) MacKenzie of Penobsquis, NB; two daughters: Mary (Tim) Badger and Margie (Donald) Ingersoll, both of Saint John; one brother Bud (Betty) MacKenzie of Saint John; three sisters: Marg (Ray) Harrington and Sandra (Wayne) Wetmore, Donna Short all of Saint John; thirteen grandchildren: Melanie, Heather, Amanda, Bradley, Jordan, Emma, Jonathan, Ashley, Crystal, Rachel, Mark, Scott and Samantha; two great-grandchildren: Zachary and Callie; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by two sisters: Jean Walsh and Connie Furlotte. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday, October 4, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2005 from Lancaster Baptist Church at 2:00 pm. Interment in Cedar Hill Old Cemetery. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Lancaster Baptist Church Building Fund.
