Obituary of Urban James Kiley
The death of Urban James Kiley of Saint John, husband of the late Jacqueline M. (Giroux) Kiley who passed away in 1987, occurred on Thursday, October 6, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late Michael and Annie (McGouey) Kiley. Mr. Kiley was a Telegraph Operator with CNR for 50 years before his retirement. Urban was an avid sports enthusiast and was a pitcher with the St. Peter's Saints and the Saint John Dodgers Baseball Teams between 1940 ? 1946, he also coached the Saint Peter's Junior Baseball Club for several years, he also enjoyed speed skating, harness racing and his Sunday night skate during the winter months at Lancaster Centennial Arena. He was a life member of St. Peter's Parish. He is survived by one brother, David Edward Kiley of Amherst, NS, four sisters: Margaret McLeod of Grand Bay-Westfield, Ellen Kiley, Rita Melanson and Regina Riley, all of Saint John and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Marion Kiley and three brothers: William Kiley, Leo Kiley and R. Patrick Kiley. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday and Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter's Church, Clarendon Street, Saint John on Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at 10:00 AM. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Remembrances to the charity of the donors' choice.
