Obituary of Jean Margaret Johnston
The death of Jean Margaret Johnston of Saint John, occurred on Saturday, October 29, 2005 at her residence. Born in Loch Lomond, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Lillian (Porter) Johnston. Jean was a graduate of Saint John High School, the Saint John General Hospital School of Nursing and Dalhousie University. She worked as a Registered Nurse in Pediatrics, Private Duty, Public Health and the VON and was always willing to lend a helping hand or a word of advise when friends and family called upon her for her nursing knowledge. Jean loved genealogy and enjoyed learning the history of Loch Lomond. She was a member of the Saint John General Hospital School of Nursing Alumnae, Silver Falls United Church and was an avid gardener. Jean traveled extensively with her nursing friends in her younger years and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by one sister, Mary Clifford of Rothesay and one niece, Jean Magee (Mark) and their children, Brian and Laura of Quispamsis. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at 12:00 Noon. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances to the Saint John Boys and Girls Club, Romero House Soup Kitchen or the Saint John Free Public Library would be appreciated.
