Obituary of Floyd Ewart Winchester
WINCHESTER, FLOYD E.- The death of Floyd Ewart Winchester of Saint John, NB, passed away as a result of a house fire on Wednesday, December 7, 2005. Born in Detroit, Michigan on February 7, 1929, he was the son of the late Frank Winchester and Elvira (Thorpe) Winchester Campbell of Maces Bay, NB. Floyd was a Machinist by trade and before his retirement was employed at the Saint John Dry dock. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #69 and The International Union of North America. He was predeceased by his wife, Gladys (Pilon) Winchester, an infant son, Frank and two sisters, Shirley Shillington (Maces Bay) and Winnifred Chalmers (Fredericton). He is survived by two sons, Paul (Brenda) and Bruce of Saint John, daughter Andrea Malone (Leonard) of Grande-Digue, NB, several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. By request of Floyd, there will be no visiting at the funeral home. A memorial service will held at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) on Saturday, December 10, 2005 at 2:00 PM. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated.
