Obituary of Mary V. Rose
The death of Mrs. Mary Violet Rose of Saint John, NB, wife of Norman Rose, occurred on Sunday, January 1, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Richmond Corner, Carleton County, NB, she was a daughter of Clara Noddin of Saint John and the late George Barrett. Mary was a longtime resident of Saint John. She was Anglican by faith and was gracefully assisted in her transition by Reverend Chris McMullen of the Church of the Good Shepherd. For many years Mary owned and operated the Friendly's Convenience Store of West Saint John, and spent her summers at her much loved St. Martins vacation home where many friends were made. Mary's hobbies included knitting, needlepoint and crocheting and she will be long remembered by her many beautiful gifts given to her dear friends and relatives. Mary is survived by her husband, Norman; a son, Stephen and his wife, Ingrid of Windsor, ON; three daughters, Linda Parker and her husband, Charlie of Saint John NB, Debra Fitzgerald and her husband, Don of Fredericton, NB, and Christina Rose and her fiancé, John Stewart of Saint John, NB; brother, John Barrett of Ottawa, ON and sisters, Jean Mann of Gagetown, NB and Paulette Bingham and her husband David of Belleisle, NB; nine grandchildren, Jennifer, Jocelyn, Kristopher, Rebecca, Trevor, Trent, Erica, Elliot and William, and two great grandchildren, Parker and Jacob; her aunt Grace Hartley of Victoria, BC; uncle Allison Noddin of Vancouver Island, BC and special cousin, Gaynell Sharkey of Woodstock, NB; as well as many very dear nieces and nephews; also, special friends, Phyllis Colwell, Denise Schonomann, May Sweet and Anna Young. She was predeceased by her father, sister-in ?law, Sheila Barrett and Brother-in-law, Paul Mann. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), where visitation will take place on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. ONLY. A private family graveside service will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances may be made to Saint John Boys & Girls Club or Hospice Saint John & Sussex.
