Obituary of Helen Marjorie Lobb
With great sadness, the family of Helen Marjorie Lobb of Baxter's Corner, formerly of Saint John, announces her death , which occurred on Friday, January 13, 2006 at St Joseph's Hospital, after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Saint John on April 25, 1922. She was a daughter of the late Herbert and Alice(Philp) Lobb. Marjorie was employed with G. E. Barbour Co. Limited for many years as a supervisor. Marj enjoyed watching hockey and figure skating , but her greatest love was baking and knitting for her beloved family. Marj always had a pot of tea, a tin of homemade cookies and a welcoming smile for her family and friends when they came to visit. The birth of a new family member would find Marj busily knitting special blankets, sweaters and Christmas stockings for those she loved. These were special gifts that will always be treasured by her family. She is survived by one brother, John (Helga) Lobb of Hampton, NB,: by nephew Robert (Carol) Hatfield of Quispamsis, NB,: nieces, Marjorie (Darrell) Nagle of Penobsquis, NB; Cindy L. Knowles of Markham, Ont.; special friend and neighbor, Jamie Goddard, several great- and great-great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers Herbert and Richard Lobb, sisters Ethel Knowles and Alice Amirault. By her request there will be no visiting or funeral service. Following cremation, interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424).
