Obituary of William Howard Mousseau

We deeply regret to announce the passing of our dear father and Poppie, William Howard Mousseau at his residence in the Loch Lomond Villa on Wednesday, February 22, 2006. Howard was born in Curling, Newfoundland to Selena (Dennis) and John Mousseau on March 27, 1912. He spent the early part of his life sailing throughout the world spending his 16th birthday on board a ship in Australia. He joined the Merchant Marine during World War II. He lived and worked in Montreal, Grindstone, Magdelin Islands and retired from National Sea Products in Louisbourg, Cape Breton in 1978. In 1993 he moved to Saint John, NB. Survived by his three daughters Heather Perry (Gary) Catalone, Cape Breton; Connie Attwood (Daryl) Stonehaven, Scotland and Debbie Power (Philip Garrett) Saint John, NB; step children John Drolet (Marlene), Germaine Drolet both of Louisbourg, Cape Breton and James Drolet (Janet) Lower Sackville, NS; son-in-law Jerry Power (Paulette) Saint John, NB. Poppie's pride and joy were his grandchildren Dr. Nicholas Power (Dr. Anita Cave) Halifax, NS; Dr. Adam Power (Amy Creighton) Hamilton, ON; his sweet granddaughter Julia Attwood and grandson Ethan Attwood who shares his Poppie's passion for story telling; Cathy Brousseau (Roy) Elora, Ontario; Lori Drolet (Kelly Hall) Louisbourg, Cape Breton; Tony and Vicki Drolet of Halifax and Victoria Garrett of Fredericton. He is survived by his brothers Russell, Maxwell and Kenneth of Corner Brook, NL and sisters Ena Priddle, Stephenville NL and Inez Butler Kingston, ON. Howard was predeceased by his first wife Gladys Patton (1964) and his second wife Catherine Drolet (1993) and his brothers Albert, Clifton, Kermit and sisters Ritha and Marjorie. We will miss Daddy's intelligence, wit, charm, wisdom, amazing will power and love. We will especially miss his story telling of his life's experiences. We would like to thank the special angels Denise, Pam, Faye, Eileen and Georgina that brightened Daddy's days. Your love for Daddy shone through and we are grateful. We will miss you Daddy and Poppie thank you for everything ? you were an incredible inspiration in our lives. Memorial Service will be held at the Loch Lomond Villa Chapel, Saint John, on Friday, February 24, 2006 at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place in St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church Cemetery, Louisbourg, NS. Remembrances to the IWK Health Care Foundation or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
