Obituary of Evelyn D. Thompson
The death of Evelyn Dorothy (Dickinson) (Thurlow) Thompson, age 81, of Willow Grove, NB, the last surviving member of her immediate family, occurred on Saturday, February 25, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in St. Stephen, NB, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Bertha (Spearin) Dickinson. Evelyn is survived by three sons: Joe Thompson of Willow Grove; Malcolm (Sharron) Thurlow of Saint John; Austin (Colleen) Thurlow of Wickham, NB; daughter, Teresa Cook of Havelock, NB; special daughter-in-law, Brenda (Thurlow) Hunter of Willow Grove; sister-in-law, Rhoda Dickinson; six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and special friend and good neighbor, Mary Ellen MacNeill and Family. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her first husband William Thurlow; son, John A. Thurlow; two sisters: Mary Hamilton and Ethel Hamilton; two brothers: Stanley and James Dickinson. By Evelyn's request there will be no visiting or funeral service. Following cremation, a graveside service will take place in Rockland Cemetery, McAdam, NB, at a later date to be announced. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424).
