Obituary of John Thomas Moran
The death of John Thomas Moran of Saint John, NB, occurred on Sunday, March 5, 2006 at his late residence. Born in Blackville, NB a son of the late Frank and Ada (Vickers) Moran he had been employed as a longshoreman in Saint John for 40 years and had also been employed as a trainman with the CNR. “Big John” enjoyed summers at the cottage in Otter Lake, NB and was a “snow-bird” wintering at West Palm Beach, Florida for 12 years where he was involved with many of the activities. Survived by estranged wife, Rena (O'Brien) Moran; four sons, Richard of Charlottetown, PEI, Keven of Fredericton, NB, Thomas (Sandra) and Timothy (Tracey), both of Vancouver, BC; three daughters, Zona (Les) Pereira of Pickering, ON, Jeanne Cook (Steve) of Vancouver, BC and Terry (Ron) Baxter of Baxter's Corner, NB; three sisters, Mary (Bernard) Frawley of Saint John, Carmel Burns and Margaret Taylor, both of Burlington, ON; ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Joachim's Church, Loch Lomond Road on Friday, March 10, 2006 at 11 am with interment following in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
