Obituary of Ron Alexander McKay
The passing of Ron "Ronnie" Alexander McKay of Saint John, NB, occurred on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at the Saint John Regional Hospital from pancreatic cancer. Born in Saint John on June 18, 1954 a son of the late Neill Alex and Minnie (Parlee) McKay. Family members and beloved friends remember Ron as a loyal, trustworthy and very intelligent person who was always available to bend an ear to a friend in need. He was a gentle soul who had a quippy comedic sense of humour that made us laugh. Ron especially enjoyed music, poetry, reading and was a history buff. He was a soft-spoken person who enjoyed solitaire time. Survived by five sisters: Dawn, Glenna, Patricia (Clarence), Beverly and Grace (Stephen); three brothers: Winston (Helen), Lawrence (Dora) and Bruce (Donna); several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Ron was predeceased by a brother, Earl Neill and a sister, Nancy Lynn. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Friday, March 31, 2006 at 1 pm with interment following in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Saint John Animal Rescue League or a charity of the donor's choice.
